Colm MacConIomaire

ColmColm MacConIomaire was born into an Irish-speaking musical family in Dublin.  He grew up in a musical home surrounded by musicians and singers, traditional and classical and started taking classical violin and piano lessons when he was only six years old.

Colm started a school band along with fellow class mates Rossa and Eoin called Kila. They started busking on Grafton Street and it was there that they met Glen Hansard of the Frames. Colm then took a year off college and joined a band called The Frames and that was the beginning….

Colm performs with the Swell Season, the band of Glen Hansard (of the Frames) and Marketa Irglova.

As a solo artist, Colm released his debut album The Hares Corner in 2011. A beautifully warm and visual album of instrumental songs. the Hares Corner highlights the reflective, contemplative side of Colm MacConIomaire, giving time and space for his compositions to grow and develop in a seductively enticing and cinematic way.

His second album, And Now The Weather, was released in 2015. In addition to his own playing on almost the entire family of stringed instruments from fiddle and viola through guitar bouzouki and zither a further 21 players of pianos, brass, percussion, strings, harp and vocals feature. A beautiful second album, it cements his place as one of Ireland’s most talented musicians.
