TOM BAXTER

Over the past 20 years Tom worked as an artist /performer and producer. His artist career spans across 5 critically acclaimed albums and is highly regarded by many of his piers. Nominated for a Ivor Novello in 2009 he was cited by Sting as 'A Masterful Songsmith’,

His ability to deeply connect with the listener is evident whilst listening to his albums. Take a listen to the climatic version of 'Almost There’ (sung by Shirley Bassey) or the economic eloquence of his Ivor Novello nominated hit song ‘Better’

A formidable guitarist in his own right, he compliments his emotively charged musical backdrops with a smooth & dextrous singing voice. Baxter has toured extensively over the years and gained a broad knowledge in the music business running his own record labels negotiating a number of different major label deals. More recently Tom expanded his skills by scoring for the BBC’s series ‘Beyond Paradise’ and an award winning 4 part nature documentary 'Costa Rica: A Forest Reborn.

He speaks of this new skill in a recent interview: 'Scoring to film is a completely different discipline to writing the traditional pop song…. In some ways it’s easier …and in other ways it’s harder. Either way it’s a beautiful puzzle to solve!’

Tom resides in North London with his small family and now concentrates on songwriting/ teaching / score-writing, painting and spending time with his daughter.
