BLUE VIOLET

Blue Violet, duo Sarah, a Scot with Parisienne roots, and singer songwriter Sam teamed up in November 2019 at Middle Farm Studios in Devon to record their subtle breed of alternative, indie dream-pop.

April 29th 2002 will see the release of their debut album ‘Late Night Calls’ produced by the band’s regular collaborator Rob Ellis (PJ Harvey, Anna Calvi). Sublime debut single ‘Undercover’ was BBC Radio Scotland’s record of the week in April 2021 shortly before the band featured as session guests on the station.

Follow-up ‘White Beaches’ inspired by Greta Thunberg’s School Strike For Climate was picked up by John Kennedy on Radio X & Steve Lamacq on BBC 6 Music who described them as ‘… a cocktail of Iain Banks and Jane Austin’.

The new year has brought most releases in the shape of ‘Poster Girl’ and sublime and minimalist ballad ‘Rabbit Hole’. ‘Poster Girl’ is a twisting ballad that touches on the fickleness of fame, the fight for feminist rights and finding your own way. ‘Rabbit Hole’ tackles issues of addiction and powerlessness.

Blue Violet continue their upward trajectory with a set of diverse and intricately crafted genre-crossing songs of beauty, heartbreak and love.
