JJ GILMOUR

Scottish singer songwriter JJ ‘Jinky’ Gilmour first tasted success as the front man with the Scottish band The Silencers, learning his craft and enjoying great success across Europe as the band toured extensively with greats such Simple Minds and U2.

After leaving the band JJ joined chart toppers East 17 and also fronted the ‘super’ group The Casbah Club, which also featured The Jam’s Bruce Foxton and Big Country’s Mark Brzezicki & Bruce Watson, before securing himself a major solo deal.

Now firmly established as a solo artist with 4 studio albums under his belt, JJ has also enjoyed success with the hit musical “Dancing Shoes”, based on the life of footballer George Best.

He is also one half of Caezar alongside another former ‘Silencer’ Joe Donnelly.

Music aside, JJ is an outspoken advocate for mental health and especially for those suffering with depression. It is okay not to be okay.
