This week we’re bringing you something a little bit different for our Track Of The Week selection!

We’ve been busy working with our colleagues at Tiny Toons on their channel full of catchy songs to help the little ones learn and have fun!

One of these creations is by Wardlaw writer Rob Castell.

Our Track of the week is ‘Ghost Child’ by Susheela Raman.

This track is taken from her 2018 album Ghost Gamelan. Described by The Guardian as ‘Wildly original, passionate and dangerous’, Susheela creates evocative, powerful and uplifting music that blends together sounds and instruments from all corners of the globe.

Out today is the second part of releases from Simon Shackleton’s Synchromesh alias, covering tracks from 1993-1997. A prototype for his active moniker Elite Force, much of the material on each of these jam packed releases has been unheard - until now!

Out today is Part One of a two part series by Simon Shackleton. Inspired by films made about the inconceivably large expanse of space that surrounds us, these tracks deliver a cinematic journey to the stars.

Louise Connell’s track ‘Crossed The Line’ featuring Sharon Shannon is up to number 9 in the RTE Radio 1 Airplay charts in Ireland, sitting nicely between Marc Almond and Monty Python!

Another unearthing of musical treasures from Simon Shackleton. This time we hear the gritty, steely beats of his releases under the alias Futurecore from 1996-1998. Futurecore made regular appearances on the John Peel show during the second half of the 90’s.

This week’s Track Of The Week is ‘Left To Right’ by multi instrumentalist duo The Blackheart Orchestra. A mediation on the folly of war, the track is taken from the bands latest album Mesmermanto (2019) out on Esoteric Recordings/Cherry Red Records.

Today sees the release of a collection of music from Simon Shackleton’s ‘Synchromesh’ alias, which was something of a bonkers sound lab prototype for his later Elite Force work. The earliest Synchromesh productions date back to 1992 with music ranging from deep and dirty lo-fi trip-hop to proto acid-breaks to frenetic jackhammer junglist beats.

This year we’ll be bringing you a new track for your listening pleasure every Friday.

Starting the year off we have this Sci-fi tinged delight from Paperface entitled ‘Little Monsters’. 

Taken off the album Love In The Time OF Florida, the track now has an amazing animated video by Cristian Wiesenfeld to accompany it!

Out today is a special version of ‘Crossed The Line’.

Building on Louise Connell’s original version first released on the mammoth double album ‘Squall Echo Rale’ (2019), it adds in fellow Wardlaw artist Sharon Shannon on accordion!
