PETE MACLEOD

Pete MacLeod is a Scottish singer-songwriter with a flair for crafting hard-edged yet sensitive and melodic guitar-based rock tunes. He spent several years living in California before he released an EP entitled Glasgow Keeps Me Real, California Lets Me Heal in early 2013. It was well received and the song ‘Rolling Stone’ was made Single of the Month on BBC Radio Scotland.

MacLeod’s music soon caught the attention of Creation Records founder Alan McGee who signed him to the just launched 359 Music label and issued his debut album, Rolling Stone, in late 2013. A follow-up, Crestfallen, was released in 2016 and saw MacLeod working with producer Youth (The Verve, Primal Scream, Pink Floyd, Crowded House) and musicians that included guitarists Simon Tong (The Verve, Gorillaz) and James McCartney (solo artist and son of Paul). The track ‘Rolling Stone’ was chosen by BBC Radio Scotland’s Janice Forsyth as single of the month and was also championed by Scotland’s voice for new music, Jim Gellatly.

A self-titled EP was released in 2017 and Pete’s track ‘Firing Line’, a critique of social media, was released in early 2019.
