SIMON SHACKLETON

Simon Shackleton is an award winning electronic musician, music-producer and DJ based in the UK. Simon has over 25 years experience in the music industry. He currently focuses on music for installations, film, television and advertising, being particularly interested in creating sound worlds that provoke a sense of space and emotional depth.

While attending Exeter University, where he left with a master’s degree in Classical Composition, he was part of the Headless Chickens with Thom Yorke. He went on to form Lunatic Calm with Howie Saunders. Their track ‘Leave You Far Behind’ was featured prominently in the film The Matrix, sparking a slew of syncs.

His music has appeared in countless films such as the MatrixArlington Road and Charlie’s Angels to name but a few, as well as in video games such as FIFAWipeout and Motorstorm Apocalypse (which he co wrote with Oscar Winning composer Klaus Badelt of Pirates of the Caribbean nortoriety) and in adverts for brands such as iShares, Carling, BMW, Kelloggs and Land Rover.

Simon has run multiple award winning record labels including U & A Recordings and Fused & Bruised. He won the Breakspoll Award for Best Record Label (U&A), the Breakspoll Award for Best Producer and The Beatport Award for Best Selling Breaks Track (‘M.A.D.’) in 2011.

Although he has made music and DJ’d all over the world under a number of different aliases including Lunatic Calm, Elite Force and Zodiac Cartel, he more recently carved out a renowned and dedicated following playing heroically long house and techno sets under his own name in intimate locations all around the world. These One Series events (One DJ, One Room, All Night) encapsulated his sense of community spirit, bringing together a devoted fan base and network of collaborators throughout the world.

Simon’s 7th album, Piece of Me, was released in 2016 and is his most personal to date. A diverse mix of different styles, Simon sticks true to his goal of producing “electronic music with heart and soul”.
